AI Trends
Researchers at MIT are asking a fascinating question: What happens to our brains when we use ChatGPT?
Their project, “Your Brain on ChatGPT,” explores how AI is shaping the way people think, both positively and negatively.
On one hand, these tools can spark creativity, free up mental bandwidth, and expand our capacity. On the other hand, there are concerns about dependence, reduced critical thinking, and the subtle ways our choices are influenced when we lean too heavily on technology.
Why It Matters
As AI tools become part of everyday life, it’s worth asking how they shape both our workflows and people’s minds and hearts.
For example, how will discipleship look in a world where AI is a daily companion? Where do we lean into the opportunities, and where do we need to slow down and set wise boundaries?
Next Steps
The Christian church has always adapted to new ways of communicating. The challenge now is to determine which messages we share through AI-enabled tools and how we disciple people whose thinking is being shaped by them.
