Facebook is testing link limits. Here’s how to prepare

Social Media Trends

Sharing a link to your website has been a routine part of posting on Facebook. For some Pages, that routine is changing.

Meta is testing a monthly limit of two posts containing external links for some Facebook Pages, with notices directing administrators to a paid Meta One subscription to share more.

This isn’t a change affecting every Page, but it’s worth checking whether your organization has received a notice, and thinking through your options before your next campaign.

Why This Matters

For ministries sharing donation appeals, event registrations, or resources, links help turn interest into action. A limit could change how you plan those invitations.

You don’t need to rush into a subscription. Start by understanding how much website traffic and response your Facebook posts actually generate. This data will help you decide whether additional link access is worth the cost.

It’s also a useful reminder to give supporters several ways to stay connected, including your email newsletter. Facebook can continue to play a valuable role without carrying every message on its own.

Next Steps

Review your next month of Facebook content. Identify which posts need a website link, prioritize your most important invitations, and share other stories or updates directly through photos, videos, and text.

Make sure important invitations also appear in your email communications and on your website. If your Page receives a restriction notice, check the subscription terms available to your account before committing.

If you have questions, we can help you review your content plan and consider where to focus your efforts as these changes unfold.
